Phone Hygiene

Dialing Down the Dirt and Germs

Your mobile phone moves from your pocket or purse to your face. You give it to your child to play with, take it into the bathroom with you, and put it beside your bed at night! Germs travel with your phone wherever it goes. A recent study discovered mobile phones contain 10 times more bacteria than most toilet seats.

Let’s keep it clean and your hands too! Follow these tips:

  • Washing your hands does a huge part in reducing germs on surfaces and mobile phones.
  • Hands can leave dirt, grease, or bacteria on cell phones. At least once a day, wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth.
  • Unfortunately, the new and fun case you bought can trap dirt and filth around the edges. Take the cover off once a week. Apply a disinfectant wipe to the case, both inside and out. Allow it to thoroughly dry before putting the case back on.
  • Give your hands a good rinse with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before using your phone.
